My Story

On the 6th of September, we’ll be lacing up our trainers, questioning our life choices, and attempting to run the Big Half in London — all to support Sight Research UK.

To be clear:

We are not natural runners.

Kerri works for the charity and has dragged Mickey into this.

And Mickey mutters quiet swear words under their breath on every single training run for being persuaded.

Not only this, 8 year old Ted is coming with us on some training runs.

But we’re doing it.

Because it matters.

Sight Research UK funds groundbreaking research into conditions like glaucoma, AMD, and diabetic retinopathy — conditions that sit very close to home for our family. We’ve seen firsthand how precious vision is, how fragile it can be, and how urgently better treatments and earlier diagnoses are needed.

So, we’re running for everyone whose world has been blurred, darkened or threatened by sight loss — and for the incredible scientists working to protect one of our most important senses.

If you’re able to support us — with a donation, a share, or even just cheering us on as we wheeze dramatically around London — we’d be so grateful. If this isn't enough, think about the miles poor Ted is being forced to do with us.

Every pound helps Sight Research UK get closer to breakthroughs that change lives.

And if you’d like to follow our training journey, sweaty updates, and inevitable questionable running selfies, follow us on Instagram:

Thank you for backing us, believing in us, and forgiving the inevitably sweaty and  red-faced finish line selfies . ❤️👟
